Survival
Survival is a serious game that seeks to educate the player about the reality of thousands of people who are facing the tragedy of migration. It puts the player in the shoes of these people, to try to change the focus, the perspective with which this problem is analyzed in our social contexts.
Survival is the video game experience of thousands of people fleeing war, hunger, and very difficult living conditions, who embark on a dangerous journey to find a better life. Migrants experience the same feelings when they leave their places of origin, when they play their lives crossing the Mediterranean, when they flee on the beaches to try not to be located, when they try to find people who help them to reach their objectives, and when they collide with the legislation and the society to attempt social inclusion. It achieves the goal of overcoming these fears, prejudices, and social barriers by killing the final monster.

Sonnettengenerator
Deze Nederlandse sonnettengenerator is gebaseerd op een boek van de Franse schrijver, dichter en wiskundige Raymond Queneau (1903 – 1976): Cent mille milliards de poèmes. Het werd in 1961 uitgegeven door Gallimard. In het boek staan 10 sonnetten met dezelfde rijmklanken.

De sonnettengenerator
Geïnspireerd door W.A. Mozarts Musikalisches Würfelspiel, maakte Olax voor u deze sonnettengenerator. Voor elke regel van dit sonnet zijn veertien mogelijkheden: met een druk op de knop bepaalt het lot welk van de ruim elf biljard (11.112.006.825.558.016) mogelijke sonnetten u te lezen krijgt.
Het sonnet dat u zo maakt is jambisch, pentametrisch, en volgt het rijmschema abba cddc efe fef.
Met één druk op de knop, werpt u, bij wijze van spreken, veertien veertienzijdige dobbelstenen. Elk van die digitale dobbelstenen bepaalt één van de regels van het sonnet. Met behulp van de slotjes-iconen voor elke regel, kan u bepaalde regels vastzetten.

Apart Samen
Deze VR-ervaring van schrijver-muzikant Micha Hamel en maker Demian Albers voelt zowel groots als intiem. Groots omdat je in deze zogenaamde ‘room scale VR’ vrij rond kunt wandelen door de driedimensionale tekeningen, op het ritme van de woorden. Intiem omdat je in Apart Samen letterlijk in een liefdesrelatie duikt die op de klippen dreigt te lopen. Door de speels getekende tableaus en de intuïtieve interactie beleef je de jeugdherinneringen van de geliefden die tegenpolen blijken. Als volwassenen hebben ze hun eigen gevoelens en verwachtingen, maar welke kies jij om aan te horen of te onderzoeken? Door deze keuzevrijheid en het feit dat je nooit alles kunt meekrijgen, wordt hun liefdesgeschiedenis voor de bezoeker een subjectieve én intuïtieve ervaring.

Author Rachel Visser wrote a unique insta novel about Farihah, a young Afghan refugee who just like other teenagers dreams about a future. At a young age, Farihah flees from Afghanistan and arrives in the Netherlands, where she is eventually living in a refugee centre. Together with her friends Noor and Lucas she dreams of going to secondary school and to become an artist. This dream is severely interrupted when she received a letter from the Dutch government.

Aa-Kwartier
Voor Het Grote Gebeuren maakt Chantalla Pleiter, met medewerking van de dichter zelf, een virtual reality bewerking van het gedicht ‘Aa-Kwartier’ van Jean-Pierre Rawie. Het gedicht heeft een plekje gekregen op de kleurrijke letterenkaart Leesbaar Groningen. In de vr-versie kunt u gedicht in woord en beeld aan den lijve ondervinden.
Het gedicht is een van de vele honderden citaten die een plek kregen op Leesbaar Groningen, de nieuwe letterenkaart van de provincie en stad Groningen die tijdens Het Grote Gebeuren wordt gepresenteerd.

Califia Reimagined
Califia was published on CD-ROM by Eastgate Systems in 2000. It is a born-digital, interactive, multimedia hypertext fiction. It combines text, image, sound, animation, and structure to create a virtual world of time-space. This novel-length piece, authored in Toolbook, was one of the most extensive e-lit fiction works of its time. Because of software and hardware advances, Califia was unplayable on any machine by 2010. Accordingly, Califia Revisited was created to give scholars and curious readers some idea of what the original piece looked and sounded like.
Author's Statement:
Califia Reimagined is a still-shot traversal that I created for the ELO Paris Conference (2013). It uses material from selected episodes of Califia- extracting small glimpses of the original work for contemporary reading devices. Similarly, for the video summary, I made a quick take from the Califia Reimagined website.

Tin Towns and Other Excel Fictions is an ongoing, open-ended collection of short fiction experiments that explore the obscurities and unintended consequences of human technology over the centuries. The genesis was an investigation into some of the causes of the end of the Bronze Age, including the shortage of tin. Critical developments in metals, nuclear energy, farming practices, and biological warfare are just some of the topics included in these works.

Tarim Tapestry
Tarim Tapestry is a collection of short fiction works inspired by the ancient history and folklore of the Taklamakan Desert in central Asia. It includes The Beauty of Loulan, The Witches of Subeshi, Tocharian Love Song, The Myth of Lop Nor, and Tales of the Silk Road.

In the remote Tarim basin, near the Peacock River, 4000 years ago, lived a woman who has come to be named The Beauty of Loulan. When she was buried, she wore a middy skirt, fur boots, a woven woolen cloak decorated with long loops, and a felt and wool hood topped with a decorative feather. Beside her was a basket containing grains of wheat – a winnowing tray covered her.
This well-preserved mummy is part of a series of mummies discovered in the far western desert in present-day China (Xinjiang), which date from 2000 BCE to 200 CE.
