  1. F8MW9

F8MW9 is a collaboration between Jim Andrews and margareta waterman. F8MW9 seeks randomly to play short parts of a sound file of vocalizing by waterman. the part of the sound file played is indicated visually. as the sound plays, a visual interpretation (drawn by waterman) of the vocalizing is revealed. In fact waterman is vocalizing her interpretation of the revealed visuals, ie, the vocals and the visuals coincide. Controls at the bottom of the piece allow the user to: a) Set the maximum duration (in milliseconds) of played audio snippets b) Press an infinity button to hear the whole audio file uninterupted (click the writing at top to exit this mode) c) Click a button to change the writing/glyphs that are rendered d) Clear the screen e) Set audio volume f) Go to a related waterman/andrews collaboration. The reader can also click the graphic or waveform to play the sound at that point. Includes an interview by Andrews of waterman about the sound and glyph visuals.

  2. Aan Deze Tafel

This work is an arkanoid game with words instead of blocks and the word 'ik' (I) instead of a ball. Your goal is to knock down the words, thus creating different texts.

  4. angel - hengel - angel - sting - fishing line

A poem in 3 languages with an equal number of voices and an infinite number of experiences. Part games, part story, within this 'Pulp Culture' experience, the abstract behaviour of verbal form leaves space for various interpretations of the text. Depending on the user, www.onderhandelingen.com is a multivocal monologue or a dialogue. Due to the different sequences and conjunctions of sound and typography, the manuscript of Tsead Bruinja is different every time: Lit de ûnderhannelings begjinne! Laat de onderhandelingen beginnen! Let the negotiations commence! (a word game by the Frisian Tsead Bruinja, the American Ryan Pescatore Frisk and Dutch Catelijne van Middelkoop) (Translation Description on Literatuur Op Het Scherm)

  5. Bijenkorf

The poem 'Bijenkorf' by Annet de Graaf spoke to me because it uses minimal interventions to give another meaning to words. As i interpret it, the poem is about someone who is seeking a person, but this person has changed so much that only the memory remains. I have chosen to make an animation which is a literal as well as surreal quest for words of the poem. The animation consists of a lot of articles you could find at a department store, but also a few objects that do not belong there at all. The reader/viewer uses the cursor to search for invisible buttons which lead to the next sentence. The location of the buttons is only clear because the cursor changes into a hand when the reader moves across it. (Translation description Literatuur Op Het Scherm)

  6. De Namen

The visual poem shows in a graphical way what kind of metamorphoses take place in the text. The names can refer to different things each time because language is a mobile 'army of metaphors'.

  7. Dear
