Oi Futuro
Present throughout Brazil, and with the mission to bring telecommunications services to all corners of the country, the Oi Company transferred its knowledge of the Brazilian reality to Oi Futuro. Faced with an environment in which challenges and potentialities are equally numerous, Oi Futuro was born at a time when it was evident the need for collaboration among various stakeholders, such as: government, companies, NGOs and individuals, in order to contribute with the changing reality of country. Aligned with the specialties of Oi, the project employs, in a creative and supportive way, communication and information technologies as a tool for accelerating the human development. From the "seed" planted by the Telephone Museum - which became the Oi Futuro Arts and Technology Center - and then by the Telemar Education Project, the Telemar Institute was created at the beginning of the millennium, already engaged in corporate social responsibility, thus contributing to strengthening the third sector's role in opening new horizons around education and culture. As the main voice of Oi's Social Responsibility, Oi Futuro is a nonprofit, independent legal entity, with a current statute, board of directors and its own goals and action programs. In 2006, the Telemar Institute became Oi Futuro. After a succession of innovative programs, several awards recognized its reputation, nationally and internationally, due its knowledge and communication democratization actions through initiatives that present human capital in response to social inequalities in Brazil.
