3. …ha perdut la veu: Some reflections on the composition of e-literature as a minor literature

   This article has two objectives. One is to give a clear example of the way in which practice and theory, or rather practice-as-research, can exist in a symbiotic relationship – each benefiting and illuminating the other. The second aim is to propose and map out an area of potential further research into the discursive positioning of e-literature. It draws on some of the thinking of Deleuze and Guattari around language and literature, in particular as it is articulated through a reading of them by Jean-Jacques Lecercle. In this respect it should be seen as a point of departure, not a presentation of findings. The article is an extended version of one I gave at Kingston University as part of the From Page to Screen to Augmented Reality Conference. The original article was designed to be delivered in conjunction with a video of a digital text work in performance. For this context I have taken some screenshots of that video and added them to the article. They will at least provide some sense of how the digital text work is displayed and how it functions.

7. Electronic Literature Organization 2012: Electrifying Literature: Affordances and Constraints

   The 2012 Electronic Literature Organization Conference will be held June 20-23, 2012 in Morgantown, WV, the site of West Virginia University. In conjunction with the three-day conference, there will be a juried Media Arts Show open to the public at the Monongalia Arts Center in Morgantown and running from June 18-30, 2012. 9. ELMCIP E-Literature and New Media Art Seminar

   This seminar seeks to broaden the conceptual space of media-shaped electronic literature through a ground-up conceptualisation that draws inspiration from various textual practices based on an experimental account with cyber-language at the intersection of various fields and disciplines. The seminar is structured as an event of peer-reviewed theory panels, demonstrations (including artistic performances by practitioners) and individual presentations.

   A goal of the Ljubljana seminar will be to discuss the challenges posed by new media and to situate electronic literature within a history of new media. Topics that might be addressed include:

10. E-literature and the New Social Paradigms

    In the opening section of this paper the author introduces the paradigm “literary text as a ride” in terms of metaphor and more because it relates to a sequential event that challenges all of human senses, and might be considered as a procedure of experiencing and perceiving of new media art and e-literary pieces. In “The Language of New Media” (2001), Lev Manovich draws upon the general trend in modern society toward presenting more and more information in the form of time-based audiovisual moving image sequences. Today we can go even a step further from this claim by arguing that such moving image sequences are just the first level in today’s arrangement of artistic and textual contents. The next crucial form of their most recent method of presentation and experience is a ride as a sequential event, which fits the basic condition of today’s individual living in the mixed and hybrid reality as a “pluriversum” of a given world and (virtual) ones.
