  5. Spanish Language Electronic Literature Seminar

    The UiB Electronic Literature Research Group is pleased to welcome SPIRE guest researcher Maya Zalbidea (Ces Don Bosco University Madrid). Zalbidea presented the Spanish Language Electronic Literature Collection (2013-2014) she has developed in the ELMCIP Electronic Literature Knowledge Base: http://elmcip.net/research-collection/spanish-language-electronic-litera.... The collection features Spanish language electronic literature from Spain and Latin America. Interactivity, collaboration and multimodality will be highlighted as elements that authors use in works that protest social injustice, demand equal rights, and increase the reader’s curiosity. Zalbidea will also present the results of a reader response study of some works from the Spanish language e-literature collection.

  8. The Extensions of Many

    A series of seminars exploring the ambiguity of the notion of media from an aesthetic and technological perspective.

    The themes range from sonic art and theory of rhythm, through the emergence of narratives about multimedia systems in the amalgam of library science and peace activism, to a relation between early video art and ecological crisis. The speakers included Ina Blom, Florian Cramer, Knut Ove Eliassen, Olga Goriunova, Aud Sissel Hoel, Eleni Ikoniadou, and Femke Snelting. The series was programmed by Dušan Barok in collaboration with Bergen Center for Electronic Arts, and held at Hordaland kunstsenter, Bergen, throughout March 2015.

  9. Text-World–World-Text

    From Mai to June Forum Stadtpark Graz and three other European institutions for contemporary literature (Lettrétage – Berlin, Nuoren Voiman Liitto - Helsinki, Ideogramma – Nikosia) will carry out a project called CROWD which will host a literary bus-tour from Finland to Cyprus featuring around 100 authors with the main aim of establishing a more interwoven network for European Independent-literature.

    In the framework of this bus-tour we will also make a stop at the Forum Stadtpark, where the symposium Text World World Text – About the relationship between experiment, politics and literature will be held. On two days (17th and 18th of June, 2016) more than 20 authors from Europe and beyond, who are working in the field of so-called experimental literature will discuss todays role of the author in society and also offer an in-depth look on their literary and aesthetic approach and perspective.

  10. Ex Machina: Inscrição e Literatura

    No próximo dia 31 de março de 2017, no Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros (FLUC, 5º piso), realiza-se o colóquio “Ex Machina:  Inscrição e Literatura”, no qual serão apresentadas comunicações do projeto de investigação do mesmo nome, desenvolvido no âmbito do Grupo de Investigação “Mediação Digital e Materialidades da Literatura” do Centro de Literatura Portuguesa da Universidade de Coimbra. Coordenado por Paulo Silva Pereira, “Ex Machina: Inscrição e Literatura” permitirá conhecer parte da investigação em curso no Programa de Doutoramento FCT em Materialidades da Literatura. O colóquio conta ainda com a participação de dois oradores convidados: Rui Torres (Universidade Fernando Pessoa) e Jorge Martins Rosa (Universidade Nova de Lisboa).
