1. Colour Yourself Inspired

   Color Yourself Inspired™ is a generative artwork that creates unpredictable poetic phrases from Benjamin Moore’s paint color database; it is an interdisciplinary exploration of sound, color and language. An online collection of over 1000 unique color names are poetically sequenced using phonetic analysis and parts of speech analysis in a computer program designed by the artists. Instead of labeling color with language as the marketing team has done in the original database, Color Yourself Inspired™ (a marketing slogan from the Benjamin Moore website) inverts this relationship and uses language to generate visual information. 2. A Brief History of Loss

   A Brief History of Loss is a heavily mediated performative lecture that is not only an extension of deep repetition and radical sameness, but a form of (non)reading put at odds with itself. How might these differences of reading information and meaning not be reduced, but contradicted? How might a text engage the form of the page and document as a space that provides platforms for close readings as well as keeping those readings at a distance, not something to read insofar as something to be looked at and thought about. Best situated within the “Translation” strand, ABHoL aims to expose and conflate mediatic and literary reading/writing practices with an unstoppable real time. The performance itself is a translation and shifting between codes, both textual and computational. Framed as an investigation into personal mediatic histories, ABHoL aims to conflate and contradict photographic images, as objects framed to be narrated, with corresponding narration that calls on the document as a performative object and artifact.

4. Generation Loss (after Alvin Lucier)

   Generation Loss (after Alvin Lucier) is a response to a work by Alvin Lucier from 1969 called I am sitting in a room. The work features a drone sound over heavily compressed images alternating between visual poetry read out loud by a bit-crushed vocal. The 4 minute video ends with a photoshopped image of a man in a field featuring guns, a mirror and the phrase "Alvin standing outside (stick to your guns)".

   The work creates a digital space where the literary dimension revolves around finding the signal within the noise. Human reception of sound interprets its meaning, how it reflects on the human condition, even in sound that follows the strict ordering of physical rules of decay.
