4. Kaos 3 - Action Poetique 129 130

   Kaos était une revue sur ordinateur consacrée à la littérature électronique et produite par la société Kaos, qui la présentait comme carte de voeux. Réalisée par Jean-Pierre Balpe, trois numéros sur disquettes seront ainsi édités entre 1991 et 1993. Ce numéro 3 est sorti en Janvier 1993. La génération automatique de textes est quasi l'oeuvre de Jean-Pierre Balpe dont l'influence a été décisive sur la littérature numérique française des années 1980. 5. The Pipes

   Written for the opening of the Stavanger Concert hall and its custom built organ, the poetry film The Pipes is an ode to the industrial history and former backbone of the city. Published as part 9 of the electronic poetry film series Gasspedal Animert, intended for electronic distribution through the internet, the film combines text, sound and digital animation. 6. Waves

   Everything disappears. Recordings of our voices will become archeological remains, and a spinning record yields fossil waves. Waves is based on three poems by Tor Ulven. 7. Channel of the North

   Channel of the North is a collaborative project by Jan Baeke and Alfred Marseille that combines data visualization, poetry, and telepresence through a series of poems that expand and contract based on the ebb and flow of the tides located in the Westerschelde river at the Dutch-Belgian border. Although a user may access this kinetic poetry anywhere in the world, the geological temporality of the poem is always rooted in a particular space and time in a way that sits in a tradition of artwork such as David Bowen’s tele-present water and tele-present wind. While the dissemination of text is not typically indexed to a physical referent, Channel of the North offers a contemplative moment when poetry becomes a vehicle for exploring the relationship between the flow of geological processes, the flow of networked computation, and the flow of language. Nicole Starosielski’s The Undersea Network charts the long relationship between water and networked communication based on how the subterranean network of private undersea cables are connected to a history of empire, colonialism, and geopolitical conflict and commerce.

9. The Dice Player

   'The Dice Player' is an Animated Poetry film that visualizes a poem written by the Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish. It was recited in the live event 'In the Shade of Words' 2008, along with harmonies by the band Le Trio Joubran. (English subtitles are available)

10. Rules that Order the Reading of Clouds

    [Screening] Rules that order the reading of clouds’, 2016 is a screen-based work that explores the process of constructing meaning using line. According to Laurent Jenny, the intention of the artist/writer Henri Michaux’s early graphic work was ‘to reconcile writing and drawing, which after all are both attributes of the same line.’ In this new work, the medium for Sally Morfill’s and Ana Čavić’s dialogue is the nomadic line that traverses visual and literary fields as it moves between drawing and poetry. Our starting point is a single digitised sketch selected from a series of quickly executed line drawings of a landscape with clouds. The image is gradually deconstructed and recomposed as a poem, then in turn, the poem is deconstructed and reconfigured as a drawing, emulating the movements of clouds. We set in motion a call and response between drawing and writing, as each new configuration of lines, conjuring new meanings, emphasisesthe fluidity of communication.
