  1. Stream

Stream deals with issues concerning presence, both physical and remote (virtual), and asks "what if" we all lost the ability to differentiate ourselves and our sense of singularity in the world? What would it be like if we could all see what everybody else can see, from their point of view, and how would we perceive ourselves to "be" as a "stream of conciousness" amongst all the other "streams"? The title also evokes other connotations of the word "stream", such as streaming (downloading) data over the web and the temporality of streams of water and such-like.

  2. database

database is an electronic reading device that deals with the inversed functionality of three electronic devices: a printer, a video camera and a database. Consequently, it raises issues about the erasure of text, the act of reading in real time (i.e., listening to a printed text), and physical databases. Through the opposition between presence x absence, recording x erasing, memory x forgetfulness, present x continuous time and reading x listening, we challenge the idea of the database as a non-linear and digital structure, and the printer as an output device as well as an information recorder. Critical for the connection of all these concepts is the idea of present time as a time that is always passing by.

  3. Earthbound: Surfing the Apocalypse

A transmedial project centered around a novel originally published chapter by chapter on a blog, and later published as a Kindle book for sale on Amazon. A number of other elements make part of the story, including a CD soundtrack, an unmarked vinyl album, art installations in galleries and a series of stickers implemented in London.

  7. Crossed Lines

Crossed Lines is a multiform (or multiplot) film telling the stories of nine characters in a way that the viewer can constantly explore and switch between all nine forms, and can simultaneously witness all sides of the characters’ exchanges which are taking place between the nine remote locations. The starting point of the piece was to conceive a series of narratives that could be viewed as individual stories, but would also reference and link to the other stories, as is the case of the multiplot film genre. As McKee has noted ‘multiplot films never develop a central plot; rather they weave together a number of stories of subplot size’. (1998:227) The difference with Crossed Lines is that it is delivered through an interactive interface paradigm, meaning that the viewer has the power to navigate and order the stories themselves, and to create a story of varying complexity depending on the number of different characters which are selected through the interface.

  8. Something That Happened Only Once

In a slowly revolving and evolving animated double panorama that takes the form of a mobius strip, the work follows a female protagonist, a male counterpart, and other characters in a manner that suggests narrative but never becomes it; instead it's an expression of temperament or a consciousness—a searching, a longing, a loneliness.

  10. 2 sides/2 lados

My work involves making marks with a rhythmical distribution of signs on a surface. Not just drawing on a surface but also physically changing it.

The work 2 sides/2 lados is a mixture of drawing, laser cut, wall drawing and book art. Passing from one technique/material to another the invented script undergoes transformation. The initial drawn script is digitally manipulated and cut from the paper to leave voids – the marks appear by their absence. The same marks are then transferred manually to a corner wall.

My current practice is concerned with finding a way of synthesizing the duality generated by site-specific works to produce work which involves a site-specific element and a broader element, but whose elements are integral – there no longer being an original and a copy or a site-specific version and a documentary version. Each is part of the work in its entirely – yet each is independent.
