  4. Poesia luso-brasileira contemporânea: do verbo ao pixel

    This article intends to reflect upon the place of poetry in the teaching of literature and the formation of the reader, considering the recurrent metaphors and images in the interfaces of the
    discourse of the hypermedia, among the languages provided by the Technology of Information and Communication (TIC) in contemporary society. It aims to demonstrate the possible experiences of reading and aesthetic appreciation which offers to the user/reader for the exercise of creativity and autonomy in the construction of collective intelligence. In order to do so, it focuses on the production of the Luso-Brazilian literature in hypermedia with emphasis on the remarkable presence of the Portuguese experimental poetry in the construction of digital poetry and the Brazilian cyberliterature in present time.

  5. V sieti strednej Európy: nielen o elektronickej literatúre: /In Central European Network: not only about electronic literature:/

    This international collective monograph brings an understanding of the problematic of changes in artistic communication in the context of the cultural practices of the post-digital era and simultaneously asks new questions about it. This book presents the keystones of electronic literature research that are based, among others, on the digital character of the text, on multisensory reading, playfulness, hypermediality, experimentation and Internet communication. Its aim is also to map digital literature in the cultural environment of Central Europe. Researchers from Slovakia, The Czech Republic, Poland, Slovenia and Croatia collaborated on the publication. The monograph is a printed textual tapestry of various approaches, theories and perspectives that communicate among themselves, react to each other and together clarify the structure that literature personifies in the new media realm.

  6. Canonizing Hypertext: Explorations and Constructions

    Canonizing Hypertext: Explorations and Constructions focuses on a contemporary form of computer-based literature called 'literary hypertext', a digital, interactive, communicative form of new media writing.  Canonizing Hypertext combines theoretical and hermeneutic investigations with empirical research into the motivational and pedagogic possibilities of this form of literature.  It focuses on key questions for literary scholars and teachers: How can literature be taught in such a way as to make it relevant for an increasingly hypermedia-oriented readership? How can the rapidly evolving new media be integrated into curricula that still seek to transmit 'traditional' literary competence?  How can the notion of literary competence be broadened to take into account these current trends?  This study, which argues for hypertext's integration in the literary canon, offers a critical overview of developments in hypertext theory, an exemplary hypertext canon and an evaluation of possible classroom applications.
