In a piece that's made for the screen (as well as about the literal and figurative ones we live behind every day), form meets content as the viewer must make a choice: Take Cody's intimate confidences at face value, or peek behind the already threadbare curtain that casts shadows over the (pre-code) lovesick musings of a man-machine's inner life.

  4. The Wolf Among Us

    The Wolf Among Us is an episodic interactive dark fantasy mystery graphic adventure video game based on Bill Willingham's Fables comic book series. It's developed by Telltale Games and is canon with the comic book universe, working as a prequel to the comic book. The game consists of five episodes, with the first episode being released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 worldwide on October 11, 2013, for OS X worldwide on October 14, 2013, for PlayStation 3 on October 15, 2013, in North America and on October 16, 2013, in Europe and Australia, for iOS worldwide on December 4, 2013, and PlayStation Vita before the end of 2014. Retail versions for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, and Xbox One consoles were released in November 2014.

  5. The Walking Dead: Season Two

    The Walking Dead: Season Two is an episodic adventure video game based on The Walking Dead comic book series developed by Telltale Games. It is the sequel to The Walking Dead, with the episodes released between December 2013 and August 2014, and a retail collector's disc edition planned at the conclusion of the season. The game employs the same narrative structure as the first season, where player choice in one episode will have a permanent impact on future story elements. The player choices recorded in save files from the first season and the additional episode 400 Days carry over into the second season. Clementine, who was the player's main companion during the first season, is the playable character in Season Two.

    A. Bill Miller's 'Gridworks' is an ongoing body of work that includes drawings, collage, video and transmedia compositions of text-based characters.

    "We exist within a built environment that is constantly mediated by the grid. Grids organize space through coordinate mapping and patterns of development. Grids compress, redisplay, and reorder information. Grids are an enforcement system imposed upon both nature and culture.

    Grids can also be populated with marks that are fundamentally human — the characters of our shared alphabets. These marks — once scratched by hand, now recorded by a keypress — are not simply carriers of meaning but iconic forms in their own right. The codes of information interchange can potentially become an artist’s palette, a medium for drawing. The coldness and rationality of the grid confronts the warmth and playfulness of the human touch."

  7. Hotel Minotauro

    This work started to be built in the year 2013, out of scripts, texts writing, musical composition, and a crime investigation (aside from the compilation of images from the web) that I carried out during previous years as if gathering pieces from a puzzle. “Hotel Minotaur” first was entitled “It`s Enough to Open a Hotel`s Doors” and I first started to visualize it when writer Fernando Marias, invited me to be part of his anthology “Solitude is the Home of the Monster” (Imagine Press, 2013), with a multimedia piece. To facilitate the reader`s turn from paper to the digital space a QR (Quick Response Code) in the book`s Codex was added.

  9. Toiletten

    Toiletten (84 bladzijdes, knalroze kaft) was ooit bedoeld als een goed wc-boek. Een verademing na alle wijzespreuken- en moppenboeken, maar nog steeds één hoofdstuk per boodschap.

    Mijn debuutroman, over een jong stel dat gaat samenwonen in een klein appartement waar vreemd genoeg twee wc’s zijn.

    Tien jaar later is er de jubileum-app, waarin je Toiletten op een nieuwe manier leest: met focusblokken. Tik je onder in beeld, dan komt het volgende blok uitvergroot naar boven. Luister je liever? Met de afspeelknop zet je stemacteur Sjors Houkes aan het werk.

  10. Califia Reimagined

    Califia was published on CD-ROM by Eastgate Systems in 2000. It is a born-digital, interactive, multimedia hypertext fiction. It combines text, image, sound, animation, and structure to create a virtual world of time-space.  This novel-length piece, authored in Toolbook, was one of the most extensive e-lit fiction works of its time. Because of software and hardware advances, Califia was unplayable on any machine by 2010.  Accordingly, Califia Revisited was created to give scholars and curious readers some idea of what the original piece looked and sounded like.

    Author's Statement: 

    Califia Reimagined is a still-shot traversal that I created for the ELO Paris Conference (2013). It uses material from selected episodes of Califia- extracting small glimpses of the original work for contemporary reading devices. Similarly, for the video summary, I made a quick take from the Califia Reimagined website.
