1. BLOGS REMEDIATION TRANSMEDIALITY FROM DIGITAL TO PAPER TO EBOOK

   Through the analysis of three case-studies, I investigate what happens to blogs when they are transposed outside the web, in media such as printed books or ebooks. Starting from Walker-Rettberg's definition of blog (2008), three orders of change are identified: blog's life and function; author's life and role; blog's structure and content. These three levels open the discussion to gender and genre issues with reference to digital texts and to the possibility that, far from sealing the death of the author or the onnipotence of the reader, the web opens texts to emancipation.

2. Collaborations in E-lit

   This essay, a discussion between two esteemed e-poets for whom collaboration is an integral part of their creative practice, appeared in the "The Collaborative Turn" special issue of American Book Review, guest-edited by Davis Schneiderman. In their discussion, Montfort and Strickland survey several common types of e-lit collaboration and provide links to representative examples. Strickland explicitly links the material aesthetics of code poetics to literary theorist Timothy Morton's call for critical thinking that engages the universe's enmeshed interconnectedness, which he dubs "the ecological thought."

5. An interview with Maria Engberg

   Maria Engberg is a lecturer at Blekinge Tekniska Högskola in Karlskrona, Sweden, and a researcher in digital media and literature. David Prater interviewed her about electronic literature pedagogy as part of Cordite's 'Electronica' issue. The interview also features quotes from participants at the ELMCIP workshop on E-lit Pedagogy held in Karlskrona in June 2011.

   Talan Memmott is Assistant Professor of digital media and culture in the Digital Culture and Communications program at Blekinge Institute of Technology and an internationally known practitioner of electronic literature and digital art with a practice ranging from experimental video to digital performance applications and literary hypermedia. 8. I Love E-Poetry

   This scholarly blog was launched on December 19, 2011 as a constraint to read and critically reflect upon a work of e-poetry every day, leading me to revisit known works, discover new ones, and expand my knowledge of this emergent poetic genre.     The editor of the ELMCIP Electronic Literature Knowledge Base, Eric Dean Rasmussen, will discuss how this electronic-literature database, built using the Drupal platform, can be used as both a research tool and a publishing platform. During a workshop session, Rasmussen will register participants who want to become Knowledge Base contributors and provide instruction on using the database system effectively.
