Fátima Régis

Fez graduação em Comunicação Social pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (1991), mestrado (1996) e doutorado (2002) em Comunicação e Cultura pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. É Professora Adjunta da Faculdade de Comunicação Social da Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (FCS/UERJ), onde leciona na graduação e na pós-graduação. Foi Coordenadora do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação (PPGC) da FCS/UERJ (2008-2010) e Coordenadora Adjunta do mesmo PPGC (2006-2008). É Procientista da UERJ e consultora Ad hoc do CNPq, da Faperj e da Fapemig. É Secretária de Finanças na atual Diretoria da Associação Brasileira de Pesquisadores em Cibercultura (ABCiber) e foi membro do Conselho Científico Deliberativo da mesma Associação entre 2007-2011. É líder do Laboratório de Pesquisa em Comunicação, Entretenimento e Cognição (CiberCog - Diretório CNPq). É coordenadora (eleita em 2009) do Grupo de Pesquisa em Cibercultura da Intercom. Atualmente desenvolve o Projeto de Pesquisa "Comunicação e Desenvolvimento Cognitivo na Cultura do Entretenimento" financiado pela Faperj. Tem experiência na área de Comunicação, com ênfase em Teoria da Comunicação, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: cibercultura, mídias digitais, entretenimento e cognição, ficção científica e subjetividade.

Fátima Regis graduated in Social Communications from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (1992), earned a Master’s (1996) and PhD (2002) in Communications and Culture from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She is adjunct professor at the School of Social Communciation at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (FCS/UERJ), where she teaches at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels. She coordinated the Post-Graduate Program in Communications (PPGC) at FCS/UERJ (2008-2010) and was adjunct coordinator of this program (2006-2008). She is a full-time professor at UERJ and ad hoc advisor for CNPq, for FAPERJ and FAPEMIG. She is Secretary of Finances at the current ABCiber (Board of the Brazilian Association of Cyberculture Researchers) and was member of the Scientific Deliberative Council of this association between 2007-2011. She heads CiberCog – Diretório CNPq (Communications, Entertainment, and Cognition Research Laboratory). She was elected coordinator in 2009 of the Intercom Cyberculture Research Group. Currently she is working on a research project entitled Comunicação e Desenvolvimento Cognitivo na Cultura do Entretenimento financed by FAPERJ. She’s experienced in the field of communication, focusing on Communications Theory and working mainly in the following areas: cyberculture, digital media, entertainment and cognition, science fiction, and subjectivity.
