Siofra is a writer, researcher, and doctoral scholar at the J.F.K. Institute for North American Studies at the Freie Universität, Berlin, writing her thesis on gift exchange in the work of Marianne Moore. In 2005 she graduated from Christ Church College, Oxford with a first in English, and completed her MA at University College London in 2007. Siofra was a 2014 participant in the School of Criticism and Theory at Cornell University. Her previous honours include a Visiting Fellowship at the Huntington Library in San Marino, California, and a Junior Fellowship at the Terra Summer Residency, Giverny, France. In 2010 she participated in the Fulbright Summer Institute for emerging American Studies scholars at NYU. Alongside Sarah Archino and Isabella Streffen, Siofra is co-editor of the And Or project, experimenting with on- and off-line dialogues between artists, writers, and art historians. Since 2014 she has been a member of the Meridian 180 Transpacific forum co-ordinated by the Cornell University Law School. She formerly worked as an Assistant Editor in the Getty Research Institute publications department. Siofra has published her poetry widely, and for five years worked as an art critic for thisistomorrow.info.
