  4. Electronic Literature in Ireland Research Collection

    This collection comprises creative and critical works from Ireland, on Ireland, and by Irish scholars and practitioners, in English and in Irish. It encompasses born digital fiction and poetry, as well as remediated works of oral and print literature in digital and/or online media. The collection is partially motivated by the need to understand how Irish literary culture adapts itself to, or engages with, the changing technological and media landscape. However, it opts for a relatively wide definition of what is meant by “Irish” literature, acknowledging the permeability of geographical and cultural borders in the digital age. Works engaging with Irish themes or topics by non-Irish writers and literature of the Irish diaspora, for example, may also be included in this collection.

  5. Online Generative Literature

    This research collection is the corpus of my MA thesis ""To Teach and Delight": How Generative Literature Produces Literary Theory Anew"

    In electronic generative literature, ideas of what literature is (supposed to be), are projected. In its algorithmic writing, generative literature mimics conventional literature while at the same time destabilizing its very foundations. This double practice makes generative literature apt to explore aspects of literary theory.

    This leads to the following research question: How does generative literature divert from conventional literature in matters of agency and meaning-making and how does this give insight into the ways in which literary models and their empirical objects determine each other?

    In exploring this question, I mean to add to the study of model theory as applied in literary studies (Erdbeer), as well as provide a further understanding of generative literature as an actor in the field of literature.

  8. setInterval() Kinetic Poetry

    This collection gathers creative and critical work related to kinetic poetry. It is an ongoing research tool and appendix to the PhD study setInterval() The study is complemented by The setInterval() Conversation Series. The setInterval() Conversation Series were recorded during 2013-2016. The aim of the series is to gather in loco knowledge about diverse poets' creative and critical work. Besides treating individual themes, it tries to better understand positions regarding the phenomena of reading and performing live, in that temporality and spatial elements are key components of kinetic poems. The conversation series serve as appendix to the PhD study setInterval() developed at the University of Bergen.

  10. Visualization of feminist works

    A collection of different feminist works. Main purpose of this collection is to list as many relevant works as possible, in order to create a visualization of feminism in digital/electronic literature. This is being used in a research paper for DIKULT207 at the University of Bergen.

    The research paper focuses on these questions:

    • Is digital/electronic literature giving feminism a new voice?
    • What types of feminist messages are popular in digital/electronic literature?
    • What types of works are popular? (e.g. poetry, flash games, audio/visual works)

    Using Gephi, these questions will be answered through visualization showing tags, and connecting the tags (such as "feminism" and "postfeminism") to works, platforms and types of message. The more popular nodes will be bigger, which will hopefully make the visualization intuitive and easy to use.
