Hundekopf
In Berlin, the S41 and S42 routes of the S-Bahn train are known as the "Ringbahn" because they encircle the central city. From an aerial view the Ringbahn has the shape of a dog's head, and so it is colloquially known as "Hundekopf", German for "dog's head". The Ringbahn is an integral component of the city's transportation network, and its restoration into a complete circle after the fall of the Berlin Wall has given it symbolic significance among Berliners. From the Ringbahn windows riders can gain an incomplete perspective of the city as a whole, and Berlin's TV tower (the city's most iconic landmark) is always within sight.

All Roads
Venice. The tight winding alleys and long dirty canals. Easy to become lost here, where every street emerges somewhere unexpected. In the central square a scaffold has been erected for your neck, and if only you can escape for long enough you might survive, but in this city all roads lead back to Piazza San Marco and the Hanging Clock.

Sooth
Sooth is a set of love poems interactively triggered phrase-by-phrase to fly in flocks over original video. Sounds associated with each phrase are mapped to audio which pans and volume shifts in space as the phrase flies. Easing equations are randomly shuffled to create a sense of behavior to each phrase. Text-code-video-audio all original and released under a Creative Commons 2.5 License. It was created while I was artist-in-residence at La Chambre Blanche web-lab in Quebec city. Bilingual: French-English in same interface.

This interactive installation permits participants to simply sketch out and edit compositions in the style of the great abstractionist Piet Mondrian.
The developers describe it as follows: "Using our new patented infrared sensing technology on a rear-projected screen (in the same spirit as the Calder piece), this work permits participants to simply sketch out and edit compositions in the style of the great abstractionist Piet Mondrian. Hyperlinking in 3D Interactive, Multimedia Performances
Dene Grigar discusses ways in which hyperlinks are utilized in three-dimensional multimedia performance works that offer a narrative or poetic focus. In the new spaces of three-dimensional performance environments, hyperlinking can be incorporated as a performative element into the work and therefore always makes a purposeful act necessary for the performance to unfold. Grigar argues that hyperlinking may denote a change of scene, the progression of a poem’s instantiation or the evocation of musical notes comprising a composition.
