    The Unknown is a collaborative hypertext novel written during the turn of the millennium and principally concerning a book tour that takes on the excesses of a rock tour. Notorious for breaking the "comedy barrier" in electronic literature, The Unknown replaces the pretentious modernism and self-conciousness of previous hypertext works with a pretentious postmodernism and self-absorption that is more satirical in nature. It is an encyclopedic work and a unique record of a particular period in American history, the moment of irrational exuberance that preceded the dawn of the age of terror. With respect to design, The Unknown privileges old-fashioned writing more than fancy graphics, interface doodads, or sophisticated programming of any kind. By including several "lines" of content from a sickeningly decadent hypertext novel, documentary material, metafictional bullshit, correspondence, art projects, documentation of live readings, and a press kit, The Unknown attempts to destroy the contemporary literary culture by making institutions such as publishing houses, publicists, book reviews, and literary critics completely obsolete.

  2. Reagan Library

    Reagan Library is an odd mixture of stories and images, voices and places, crimes and punishments, connections and disruptions, signals on, noises off, failures of memory, and acts of reconstruction. It goes into some places not customary for "writing." I think of it as a space probe. I have no idea what you'll think.

     The piece seems to become more and more confusing as the writing continues. Demonstrates certain aspects of the writings becoming more incoherent, showing older graphic pictures of areas that seem lost, and bizarre, regarding the context of Reagan Library. The texts describe certain scenarios as well such as the Doctor asking what appears to be a patient to perform tasks involving one of the graphics, the piece goes on from the doctor's narration of the person's ability to perform the given tasks involving the image.

  3. Inside Blackwell Mansion

    "Inside Blackwell Mansion" is a historical-fiction digital narrative based on the life story of Sarah Pardee Winchester, the eccentric "haunted" widow of the heir to the Winchester Repeating Arms fortune. On advice from a psychic, Sarah Winchester built a sprawling mansion in San Jose, California, allegedly to avoid the vengeful spirits of the countless many who had been killed by the Winchester rifle. Building went on continuously for 38 years, without plan, and often without apparent purpose, until her death in 1922. Sarah Winchester's story is especially interesting, because it can be considered on so many different levels: spiritualism, skepticism, mythology, tourism, and feminism.

  4. Englen

    "Englen" - interaktiv tegneserie. Deadline (1999)

    "Englen" var en del af "Crosstown" - trilogien der var Deadlines bud på et dogme spil. Crosstown projektet var lavet af tre korte interaktive fortællinger, der alle var lavet på samme lokation (Crosstown), skrevet af tre forfattere efter hver sin dramaturgiske model og tegnet af hver sine tegnere, med forskellig streg, men i den samme by - og med lån af hinandens karakterer. User interfacet og navigationen, var også forskelligt i de tre produktioner selvom historierne delte location. Baggrunden for trilogien var alle de dramaturgiske erfaringer vi havde gjort med Blackout. Der var mange bud på hvilke fortællinger der var de bedste, hvilke dramaturgiske greb der var de rigtige og vi besluttede at drage fordel af de uenigheder. Der blev altså sat tre små produktioner i værk, hvoraf kun de to nåede at udkomme ("Giften" og "Englen"), selvom det tredie faktisk var tegnet færdigt ("Manipulatoren").

    Englen blev tegnet af Ole Comoll og instrueret af Simon Løvind, der også tidligere havde arbejdet på "Blackout".

  5. City of dreams

    'City of dreams' is an excerpt from a work in progress entitled 'a smear of roses' and explores subjectivity, secrets, sadness and desire. The non-linear text of 'a smear of roses' ruptures traditional narrative, opening out into flightlines across the plains of madness, picking up trace memories of disturbing events, sensual and violent impulses, erotic encounters and pyschotic states.

  6. The Death of a Factory

    A hypertextual, mulitmodal report on old, abandoned factories, and about the people who still work in the factory spaces. Through stories in text, spoken voice, music, other sounds, still images and moving images, we are shown how abandoned factories have become the basis of cultural production, often now functioning as cultural centres and attractions. This hypertext speaks in favour of protecting and repurposing old factory spaces that are threatened with demolition. The hypertext calls itself a report, but could also be connected to the genres of narrative and of documentary, digital visual art, digital movies, sound art and digital installation.
