forking paths
This work was an early experiment with literary hypertext that has been discussed or mentioned in several early theoretical texts, but that has never been published in full because it mostly consists of text from Borges' short story "The Garden of Forking Paths". Moulthrop describes it as "a sort of low-grade literary pastiche concocted as a laboratory demonstration--or parlor game--for an undergraduate writing class in 1987." Documentation of the work, with most of the text from Borges' short story removed, is published on the CD that accompanies Montfort and Wardrip-Fruin's New Media Reader.

Gabriella infinita
Gabriella Infinita es una obra metamórfica. Su presencia corre paralela a una intensa y a la vez voluble experiencia de escritura. Nace como toda obra artística: por gracia de una necesidad expresiva muy intima. Pero, apenas brota, empieza a buscar alocadamente su forma, como ávida de cuerpo, como presintiendo su fragilidad y su contingencia. Y termina comprendiendo que estaba destinada a la volatilidad.
Pero esa conciencia siempre estuvo lejos de ser alcanzada fácilmente. Sufrió al comienzo, en su primera fase de formalización, la negligencia majadera de sus lectores; después, la terquedad imposible de su autor que le impidió mutar con libertad. Finalmente, hubo de someterse a la desintegración de sus elementos. Ahora, en su tercera metamorfosis, espera nerviosa, como una quinceañera asustada en su primera cita a ciegas, el encuentro con su lector.

Bare Bones
Fairy tales have been hijacked throughout history for various uses. Emigrating from one distribution method to another, they have been duplicated, mistranslated, and subverted. It could be that Cinderella is the world's most-told tale. There are thousands of versions, each one colored by the details of local culture, the needs of its audience and the desires of its teller. Buried among the world's heap of Cinder tales, is the Russian version, in its multiple incarnations. Bare Bones is a retelling of this story about a girl and her encounter with the fearsome hag, Baba Yaga.
We identify with this tale through our own experiences of loss, humiliation and enslavement. By reshaping its text, imagery and format, I try to build a bridge for the fairy tale audience between traditional media and digital media. Bare Bones is just one piece of The Vas(i)lisa Project which is more visually and texually complex.

Tentative d'épuisement de «Tentative d'épuisement d'un lieu parisien» de Georges Perec est une oeuvre qui reprend intégralement le texte de Perec en y ajoutant de nombreux hyperliens. Fidèle au projet perecquien de l'épuisement du réel, de Jonckheere en offre une version hypermédiatique en doublant l'exploration du réel d'une exploration de l'espace Web. En effet, chaque hyperlien de l'oeuvre renvoie à une page Web qui est toujours en lien avec le signification du mot hyperlié. Certaines URL mènent à d'autres oeuvres du Web, alors que d'autres mènent à des sites commerciaux. (Source: NT2)
