    "This paper is based on the general (yet disputable) assumption that the theoretical debate of literature in digital networks has shifted, just as the poetic practices it is shaped after, from perceiving computer data as an extension and transgression of textuality (as manifest in such notions as "hypertext'', "hyperfiction'', "hyper-/ multimedia'') towards paying attention to the very codedness - i.e. textuality - of digital systems themselves."

  2. On the Possibility of a Text That Is Not Digital

    This twenty-minute paper builds toward the following provocation: it is no longer possible for a text not to be digital. Considering both existing and invented definitions of digital textuality, this paper frames (again!) various discussions of the nature of digital (and "electronic) texts, examining in digital texts their materialities and temporalities, their associated modes of composition and reception, their most evident differences from traditional texts, and their claims to both digital-ness and to textuality. Selecting key features from this analysis, I conclude that the digitalness of a text relates to the way in which it opens (and closes) certain possibilities of reading and other actions. Google's Book project, numerous digital library efforts, and even devices for digitizing business cards attest to the drive to make all texts digital. But, I suggest, even beyond these current events, we have come to understand the very idea of a text already in terms of its possibilities and thus as already digital or potentially digital. What room is left for another, non-digital notion of textuality to present itself?

  3. Speech to text: between the real and the unreal

    Context aware technologies (Augmented Reality) allow for novel forms of interaction with physical environments. These technologies feature properties that allow information to be situated in the environment in a context aware manner. 
    There are diverse ways in which information can be integrated into the environment by such means. The Microsoft Hololens, and related technologies, allow the placement of virtual information in locations that are congruent with physically tangible objects and environmental elements. You may place virtual images onto physical walls, punch virtual portals through to other (virtual) spaces in actual floors, or place a virtual ball on a physical table so that when the table is tilted the ball will roll along the surface of the table and drop onto the floor, bouncing on impact. The virtual object and the physically tangible space the virtual object has been placed within are, within the logic of the system, of the same ilk. The imaginary and the tangible are merged in a novel manner.

  5. Analysis of poetry writing teaching at high school level

    This research shows a diagnosis of teaching methods of poetry writing used by teachers at some high schools in Mexico City. At the initial stage of this research, teachers of three different types of high schools were given a questionnaire using Google Forms. This included general questions regarding the teachers´ working conditions, their literary preferences, the sections in their Study Programs containing the subject matter of study, and the activities and methods used for the writing of poetry. The results were analyzed with the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). It was found that within the Study Programs of three different types of high schools, poetry is approached studying its essential characteristics: the fundamental interaction of form and content, its rhetorical figures, its contrast with others genres, appreciation, analysis and criticism of texts, but a specific systematic method for the teaching of writing of this genre is missing. Only two study programs included a small section for poetic writing but was not systematic and it did not had specific activities.
