    Dr. Miriam Havemann studied English, French, Comparative Literature and Philosophy at the Universities of Bochum and Warwick. With the support of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, she completed her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature under Prof. Dr. Monika Schmitz-Emans with her thesis 'The Subject Rising Against Its Author. A Poetics of Rebellion in Bryan Stanley Johnson's Œuvre.' She shares her time between teaching part-time at the University of Bochum and living in Dawson City, Yukon, Canada, where she continues conducting research on Interactive Fiction, Electronic and Hypertextual Literature in different media.

    Coppelie Cocq is Professor in Sámi studies and digital humanities at HUMlab at Umeå University. Her 2008 PhD was titled Revoicing Sámi Narratives. North Sámi storytelling at the turn of the 20th century. She has combined a focus on oral storytelling using folkloristic methodologies with a focus on how Sámi people using digital media in contemporary storytelling.

  9. Brian Evans

    Brian Evans is a digital artist and composer. For twenty-five years he has been experimenting with the integration of image and sound. His artwork and music animations are exhibited and screened internationally, including recent performances at Disney Hall in Los Angeles, the High Museum in Atlanta, Georgia as part of the 2011 ACM conference on Creativity and Cognition, and the Angelica Gallery in Rome, Italy in conjunction with the Generative Art Conference, 2011. He publishes and presents extensively on his research, including the recent article “Materials of the Data Map,” in The International Journal of Creative Interfaces and Computer Graphics.

    Evans holds a DMA from the University of Illinois and an MFA from CalArts. He directs the digital media program in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Alabama.
