  2. Frank Fietzek

    was born in Kiel, Germany, in 1960. Living in Berlin, he is a media artist and has been working as a project director at the Labor für elektronische Medien (LEM) in Hamburg and as a resident professor in Stuttgart, Hamburg, Weimar, and Berlin. Since 1983 his work has been shown in numerous personal and group exhibitions including “Im Buchstabenfeld,” neue galerie graz 2001; “Operational Tests,” E-Werk, Freiburg; “artgenda,” Börse und Kunsthaus Hamburg 2002. Frank Fietzek has received several awards, among others from the “Ars Electronica” (Honorable Mention 1999, 2001).

  3. Michael Tippett

    A successful entrepreneur for almost two decades, Tippett is recognized an as international expert on emerging news models. In 2005, Tippett co-founded NowPublic.com. The company has been named one of the top five most useful new sites on the web by The Guardian and Time magazine named it one of the Top 50 Websites for 2007.

    In 1995, Tippett founded the WebPool Syndicate, one of Canada's first Internet companies. After the success of the WebPool venture, Tippett travelled to the United States and worked for some of the largest web companies in North America, including TheGlobe.com and Register.com.

    Outside of his role at NowPublic, Tippett is a member of the University of British Columbia's School of Journalism Advisory Board and is also a board member of CABINET, a Vancouver-based arts organization.

    Tippett graduated from Queen's University with a degree in Philosophy.

  10. Lisa Jevbratt

    Jevbratt is a Swedish born new media artist, currently an associate professor in the Art Department and the Media Art Technology program at University of California, Santa Barbara. Her work, ranging from Internet visualization software to biofeedback and interspecies collaboration, is concerned with collectives and systems, the languages and conditions that generate them, and the exchanges within them. The projects explores alternative, distributed and unintentional collaborations and the expressions of the collectives they create. Her work has been exhibited extensively in venues such as The Walker Art Center (Minneapolis), Banff Centre for the Arts (Canada), The New Museum (New York), The Swedish National Public Art Council (Stockholm, Sweden), and the Biennial at the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York); and it is discussed in numerous books, for example in "Internet Art" by Rachel Greene, "Digital Art" by Christiane Paul and "Art + Science Now" by Stephen Wilson (Thames and Hudson). Jevbratt also publishes texts on topics related to her projects and research, for example in the anthology "Network Art - Practices and Positions" ed. Tom Corby (Routledge).
