1. GiG 2.0: An Interactive Cabaret of Electronic Literature and Media

   This event was an interactive cabaret of electronic literature and media commemorating the first anniversary of the Electronic Literature Organization. Performing at the event were Joe Tabbi, Kurt Heintz, Talan Memmott, Bob Holman and others who performed live poetry telematically between New York and Chicago (via dial-up modem!), as well as interactive, collaborative CD-ROMs and video works.

   Attention à la marche! Mind the Gap! questions the place of electronic literature in a digital culture. Present since the 1980s, electronic literary practices must now adapt and renew themselves in light of the proliferation and massive use of digital devices in our lives. How do they make us think about literature in its broadest sense and its current occurrences? What forms do they take in public and urban spaces? How do they articulate our relationships to the body, to culture, to our representations of ourselves and the world?

3. The Turn on Literature Prize 2017

   How can libraries best introduce new digital literature to the public? The objective of “Turn on Literature” is to find solutions to this question. The partners will approach the field of digital literature through the work with literary installations, exhibitions and workshops in Romania, Denmark and Norway. The partnership will seize the opportunities that digital literature offers for audience development and will reposition the library to suit users’ needs in an increasingly digitised world. Target groups will be young adults and traditional book readers at the libraries.

   Digital literature is an emerging field where authors combine language with the affordances of digital devices (such as computers, tablets, sensors, RFID chips, smart phones etc) to create contemporary literature. The three partners will work closely with authors in order to create innovative presentations of interactive works of literature and circulate the European works to the involved libraries. Exhibitions and capacity building events will secure that literature born in new media in the future will have a place to meet an audience.

4. Post-Digital: Dialogues and Debates from the Electronic Book Review Book Launch

   The Bergen Electronic Literature Research Group welcomes you to a special event, a book launch for Post-Digital: Dialogues and Debates from the Electronic Book Review that will include a panel discussion with contributors to this landmark 2 volume collection.

   For this interational celebration, we will be hearing from authors, editors, and contributors to the books including Joseph Tabbi (UiB), Scott Rettberg (UiB),  Eric Rasmussen (UiS), Lisa Swanstrom (U of Utah), Stuart Moulthrop (UW Milwaukee), Davin Heckman (Winona State U), Lai-Tze Fan (U of Waterloo), and Serge Bouchardon (UTC, Sorbonne) in a roundtable discussion of the project and their contributions to it.

5. A Toast to the Flash Generation

   "A Toast to the Flash Generation" took place on New Year’s Eve Day to celebrate the genius of the Flash Generation. Over 20 artists of Flash narratives, poetry, and essays will read and performed their works throughout the day via Zoom.
