  1. Der Dialog der Kultur und die Kultur des Dialogs: Die chinesische Netzliteratur

    Mit der Entwicklung des Internets erscheinen im chinesischen Literaturraum viele neue literarische Werke in Internet-Megaportalen, auf literarischen Webseiten und auf persönlichen Homepages. Aus Schreiblust oder um persönliche Gefühle auszudrücken stellen Amateurautoren ihre Werke ins Netz. Sie handeln vor allem nicht von den großen Themen, sondern überwiegend von persönlichen Erfahrungen und Gefühlen. Ihre Sprache ist oft witzig, lebendig, alltäglich. Zugleich tauchen auch einige Werke auf, die gar nicht für die Buchform konzipiert worden sind. Sie bestehen aus vielen Hyperlinks, die die Leser anklicken können oder müssen, oder sie benutzen außer Sprache auch Musik, Animationen und andere mediale Ausdrucksformen. Einige Werke beruhen sogar auf der interaktiven Teilnahme des Lesers als unverzichtbare Voraussetzung für ihre Entstehung.

    The expression interactive literary narrative applies to a variety of works. In its diversity, the
    interactive literary narrative raises questions on narratives, interactive architecture, multimedia as
    well as on literature. It is because the interactive literary narrative is wrought by tensions that it has
    this questioning and maybe even revealing capacity. This tension is first and foremost that which lies between narrativity and interactivity and which investigates other connections or tensions :
    - with regards to the narrative, the tension between adherence and distance can be characterized by a play on fictionalization and reflexivity;
    - with regards to the interactive architecture, the tension between assistance and control roles can
    manifest itself by a play on loss of grasp,
    - with regards to the multimedia, the tension between a text-based narrative and a multimedia
    narrative can be reached by work on text as a dynamic and polysemiotic object, and also the
    theatralization of interactive objects endowed with behaviour,

  3. Intervista ai TheCoevas

    TheCoevas Strumentist di Parole is an group of authors or, as they define themselves, a literary band which created an interactive novel called TheCoevasIo interattivo (TheCoevas I interactive). The novel which was published in 2011 on the blog of the authors is accompanied by a medium-length documentary and is also published in form of printed book. Another characteristic of the novel is the variety of the online versions: iWork Apple, Powerpoint and pdf. As they explain in the interview, the project as a whole is conceived as an experiment of different ways of expressions and the work of writing is similar to the musical composition of a band. The very freedom of creativity is granted to the readers who can choose various audio-visual effects and narrative paths following their emotional and individual choices according to the demands of extemporaneity.

    In this interview Serge Bouchardon resumes his many activities in the realm of digital media. Besides a professional background in e-learning and the activity as researcher and professor he has also authored a book about electronic literature and several literary works. He explains why in his book he chose the theories of structuralism to analyse a topic that reaches out to post-structuralism or post-modern theories. Furthermore he describes the way the aesthetics of the literary text changes in the digital context. He then ponders about the status of electronic literature in the field of academia and talks about his current projects.
