Xbox Game Studios
Xbox Game Studios (formerly Microsoft Studios and Microsoft Game Studios) is a division of Microsoft Corporation, which develops and publishes videogames for computers based on the Windows operating systems, Xbox game consoles, and previously on Windows Phone smartphone operating systems. They were established in 2001 as Microsoft Game Studios to coincide with the launch of the Xbox, before being rebranded in 2011 as Microsoft Studios and in 2019 as Xbox Game Studios. The Microsoft division develops and publishes games in conjunction with first and third development studios, under its publishing label. On September 21, 2020, Microsoft acquired the company ZeniMax Media for 7.5 billion dollars, being within the videogame industry the largest agreement in the last 5 years.
