Before I started my bachelor degree I took a one year course in art history, and I’ve worked a little with my father in his graphical design firm. 5. Laura Hyunjhee Kim

Laura Hyunjhee Kim is a multimedia artist who renders familiar physical experiences into fabricated (non)existent spaces that reimagine digital culture and virtual living. Playfully engaging with the amateur aesthetics of the internet, she utilizes consumer electronics in production and draws inspiration from viral memes, lo-fi pop music, narrative found-footage film, and kitschy low-budget commercials. In recent projects, she thematically explores emerging trends and patterns in consumer-grade technology to speculate on the underlying dreams and desires that continue to influence (non)human life and existence.
