    “Flewn” is a melancholic and surrealistic story in book app format about an old whale walking on stilts through a desert in search of a lost ocean, carrying on its back jars with sea creatures it has rescued. Beautifully executed, “Flewn” offers two reading modes: the story mode, in which the reader explores the whale’s story by scrolling through the illustrations, accompanied with music, animation, video, and text; and the game mode, which offers an interactive exploration of the story space from the perspective of a little frog whose helicopter must be kept on air by pedalling and in this way help to spot the ocean everybody is looking for.

  2. DO IT

    DO IT is an interactive app. of Electronic Literature for smartphones and tablets (both for Android and iOS). DO IT offers four interactive experiences: adapt, rock, light up and forget. Each scene comes as an answer to contemporary injunctions: being flexible, dynamic, finding one’s way, forgetting in order to move forward… You will have to shake words - more or less strongly - in the Rock scene, or to use the gyroscope in the Light up scene. These four scenes are integrated into an interactive narrative (Story). They can also be experienced independently (Scenes).

  3. Rules that Order the Reading of Clouds

    [Screening] Rules that order the reading of clouds’, 2016 is a screen-based work that explores the process of constructing meaning using line. According to Laurent Jenny, the intention of the artist/writer Henri Michaux’s early graphic work was ‘to reconcile writing and drawing, which after all are both attributes of the same line.’ In this new work, the medium for Sally Morfill’s and Ana Čavić’s dialogue is the nomadic line that traverses visual and literary fields as it moves between drawing and poetry. Our starting point is a single digitised sketch selected from a series of quickly executed line drawings of a landscape with clouds. The image is gradually deconstructed and recomposed as a poem, then in turn, the poem is deconstructed and reconfigured as a drawing, emulating the movements of clouds. We set in motion a call and response between drawing and writing, as each new configuration of lines, conjuring new meanings, emphasisesthe fluidity of communication.

  5. Autopia

    Autopia is a simple text generator that presents language as if it were endless traffic. The headline-style sentences that are produced are made entirely of the names of cars — no other lexemes are used. While the Web version uses a JavaScript port of espeak to do text-to-speech synthesis, it is not necessary to present the work in a gallery setting with sound.

    Autopia is available as free software. It is also published in print form, as a book, by Troll Thread, a New York press. It has been exhibited in galleries.

  7. Et puis, tu meurs

    As interactive writing and digital art are relatively emerging fields there remains considerable research areas to explore. One of the most pressing is the examination of how to re-think, translate and remake older creative works into new cultural and language contexts. This work was create for BleuOrange in Canada. And is an entirely new work loosely based Jason Nelson's This is How You Will Die generative fiction,  rethinking all aspects of the work in a French context.

    Working with translators, Ariane Savoieand Lisa Tronca at BleuOrange in Quebec, the work developed new methods for rethinking and translating everything about a digital writing artwork. Specifically examining how the images, the motion, the interface, the animation, the sounds, and the interactivity, as well as the words, have to be re-created.  So once those models and methods were developed, an entirely new work was created, based loosely on This is How You Will Die, which comprised of re-combining 15 different stories through an interactive game engine, as well as numerous additional sections, graphic and audio work.

  8. Show's Over: A Creditable Fiction

    "Show's Over" is a creditable fiction by Stuart Moulthrop. The work consist of a credit roll for fake films, generated as they go, composed on the fly by a series of programs. The shows are all over, so you can just hang out and watch the words. Watch while you want. Get up and go when you're ready. There is bonus content in the shape of a story in eighteen parts. The story can be accessed by clicking anywhere in the active window while the credits are rolling. While doing this a subtle message will appear in the background, saying something like request story/narrative/disrupt. The messages will differ from time to time but their meaning is always the same. You'll have your story segment as soon as the current credit sequence completes.

  10. Se souvenir des morts

    "Le 1er octobre 2015, dix personnes ont été tuées par balle au Umpqua Community College à Roseburg en Oregon. l’université de l’état de Washington où j’enseigne se situe assez près de la scène du massacre pour que les médias traitent la nouvelle comme étant locale et envoient des journalistes sur les lieux. C’était définitivement assez près de la scène pour que je pense: «et si…».

    La fusillade de Umpqua, écrit Nick Wing dans The Huffington Post, a été la 45e fusillade de l’année s’étant produite dans un établissement scolaire, ainsi que la 142e ayant eu lieu depuis la tuerie de la Sandy Hook Elementary School à Newtown au Connecticut en décembre 2012.

    Plusieurs de ces fusillades ont été qualifiées de mass killing, qui se définit par le FBI comme un massacre par arme à feu comprenant quatre victimes ou plus excluant l’auteur de la tuerie. Beaucoup de personnes sont mortes dans nos écoles.
