Astrid Ensslin
Astrid Ensslin is Associate Professor in Digital Culture at the University of Bergen. Her main publications include Digital Fiction and the Unnatural (Ohio State UP, 2021, with Alice Bell), Approaches to Videogame Discourse (Bloomsbury, 2019, co-edited with Isabel Balteiro), Small Screen Fictions (Paradoxa, 2017, co-edited with Lisa Swanstrom and Pawel Frelik) Literary Gaming (MIT Press, 2014), Analyzing Digital Fiction (co-edited with Alice Bell and Hans Kristian Rustad, Routledge, 2013), The Language of Gaming (Palgrave, 2011), Creating Second Lives: Community, Identity and Spatiality as Constructions of the Virtual (co-edited with Eben Muse, Routledge, 2011), Canonizing Hypertext: Explorations and Constructions (Continuum, 2007), and Language in the Media: Representations, Identitites, Ideologies (co-edited wit Sally Johnson, Continuum, 2007). She was Principal Editor of the Journal of Gaming and Virtual Worlds from 2008 to 2018. She is Principal Investigator of the SSHRC-funded "Writing New Bodies" project, and Co-investigator of the "Reading Digital Fiction" project (funded by the UK's Arts and Humanities Research Council), and the Leverhulme-funded Digital Fiction International Network. She is a Director of the Electronic Literature Organization.
