About CYLAND MediaLab
CYLAND media art lab is an international organization based in St. Petersburg.

This is the only permanent media lab of contemporary art in Russia.

CYLAND was created by the artists and for the artists.

CYLAND was founded by Anna Frants www.annafrants.net and Marina Koldobskaya www.marinakoldobskaya.com and headed by them.

CYLAND is funded by the non-for-profit organization St. Petersburg Arts Project Inc., NY.

The mission of CYLAND is to make St. Petersburg the center of media art of Russia and to create an active network of media artists.

CYLAND is a production company. Powered by the lab, new works of art are created.

CYLAND is also educational organization. It helps artists to get oriented in the world of cutting-edge technologies, and it provides support in the form of computer programming, engineering, equipment and information.

CYLAND organizes exhibitions, workshops and seminars. It participates in international festivals, competitions as well as in web-based projects and educational programs.

CYLAND has archive of video art, which is one of the biggest in Russia and only in Russia which is available on Internet.

CYLAND is an open organization that always welcomes artistic, technological, informational and organizational initiatives. The circle of CYLAND partners is constantly expanding. CYLAND collaborates with museums, galleries, universities, information resources, research facilities and other media labs.

Since 2007, under the aegis of CYLAND, the annual international media-art festival CYBERFEST is held www.cyberfest.ru

Partners of CYBERFEST in St. Petersburg include major museums (State hermitage Museum, State Museum of History of St/ Petersburg), prestigious art institutions (Kuryokhin Center of Modern Art, Gallery of Experimental Sound), galleries of the Association of Institutions of Up-to-date Art.

In 2011, over 80 artists from 20 countries participated in Cyberfest.
