Shu Lea Cheang

Emerged as an artist in 80s New York City, I have since 1997 chosen a nomadic live
/work condition until settled in Paris in 2007. An artist, conceptualist, filmmaker and
networker, I work in digital, networked performance, social interface, installation,
cinema, electronic, web, net. Working out of various media labs and artist
residencies, I produce work in collaboration, often formulating collectives to realize
large scale public/networked performance work. My work traverse between hard and
soft, sex and polities, fiction and reality, fantasia and earth-bound.
