Locations

Remediating the Social is spread over a number of locations in Edinburgh. Papers and panel discussions are in lecture theatre E22 at Lauriston place, Edinburgh College of Art. Registration, Lunches, and the performance evening are in the Sculpture Court, also at Lauriston Place, Edinburgh College of Art. The accompanying exhibition is at Inspace, University of Edinburgh. The conference dinner on Friday 2nd November is at The Scottish National Gallery. Please see the links below for more information.

Visitor's Information

Edinburgh is home to a first class selection of galleries, museums and visitor attractions. Within walking distance from the University of Edinburgh are some of the best. These include The National Galleries of Scotland, Edinburgh Castle, National Museum of Scotland and Holyrood Palace, as well as Arthur’s Seat and Salisbury Crags. Further afield are the Pentland Hills and the Firth of Forth, including Brunel's iconic Rail Bridge. There is a good selection of food and entertainment options within the city, from late night bar to Michelin starred gastronomy. Those close to the University of Edinburgh include: Peter's Yard, Edinburgh Larder, Spoon Café Bistro, Tanjore, Elephant House, Monteiths, Urban Angel, Black Bo's and Ecco Vino

Transport

Edinburgh is a city with good transport links. Please see the University of Edinburgh’s travel page for advice on travelling to and from the city.  

Transport from the airport is also plentiful, by bus (less than £4.00), shuttle (around £8.00) and taxi (around £20.00). Details of buses can be found at Edinburghairport.com
